Who We Are

Okeechobee County Ag-Venture Inc. Board of Directors reside in Okeechobee and have a  passion for agriculture education.  We believe everyone should know the origin of their food.  For example, where did your salad or milk come from before the grocery store? How many people are involved in making your dinner possible?

Okeechobee Ag-Venture strives to teach our 4th grade students that  fruit and vegetables first come from the soil and meat and dairy products first come from farms and ranches.

Q: Where does your food come from?

A: My food comes from the grocery store.

Q: Where does chocolate milk come from?

A:  The brown cows.

These are typical responses from the students.  This is why it important to share the experience of agriculture with our future.
